Green Jacket Roost Board Positions & Responsibilities

President:
The President provides overall leadership and strategic direction for the chapter. This individual represents the chapter in official capacities, including engagements with AOC headquarters and external organizations. They preside over board meetings, ensuring objectives are met, and oversee the performance of board members and committees, fostering a cohesive and effective leadership team.

Vice President & Special Projects Chair:
The Vice President & Special Projects Chair supports the President and assumes leadership duties in their absence. They assist with strategic planning and the execution of chapter initiatives. This role also leads unique initiatives and manages special projects beyond standard chapter operations, identifying funding and partnership opportunities to bring these projects to fruition.

Secretary:
The Secretary records and maintains meeting minutes, ensuring accurate documentation of discussions and decisions. They distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and other communications to board members, maintaining records of chapter activities, bylaws, and official documents. Additionally, they coordinate with other board members to track action items and deadlines, ensuring smooth organizational flow.

Treasurer:
The Treasurer manages chapter finances, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting. They ensure compliance with financial regulations and AOC guidelines, tracking income and expenses, including membership dues and event funding. This role also coordinates fundraising and sponsorship efforts, ensuring the financial health and stability of the chapter.

Membership Chair:
The Membership Chair manages membership recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies. They maintain an up-to-date roster of chapter members and communicate with prospective and current members about benefits, events, and initiatives. This individual also coordinates new member orientations and engagement activities, fostering a welcoming and active membership base.

Outreach Chair:
The Outreach Chair develops and executes strategies to engage with the broader community, industry, and partner organizations, building relationships with military, government, and industry leaders. They coordinate public relations efforts and social media outreach to promote the chapter’s mission, managing external communications and community engagement initiatives. This role also identifies partnership opportunities that align with AOC’s mission and advocates for the chapter’s interests in relevant policy or industry discussions.

Awards and Events Chair:
The Events Chair plans and executes chapter meetings, conferences, networking events, and workshops. They work with the Membership and Outreach Chairs to promote events, coordinating logistics such as venues, catering, speakers, and registrations. This individual evaluates event success and gathers feedback for future improvements. They also work with the Special Projects Chair to identify and provide targeted professional development opportunities, organizing training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programs.

Awards & Scholarship Chair:
The Awards & Scholarship Chair oversees the selection and recognition of members for outstanding contributions, managing the award nomination and selection process. They administer the chapter’s scholarship programs, including selection criteria and recipient engagement, building relationships with educational institutions to promote scholarship opportunities. This role also tracks scholarship recipients and their progress, fostering continued engagement with the chapter.

Technology & Communications Chair:
The Technology & Communications Chair manages the chapter’s website, social media accounts, and email communications. They ensure the chapter's online presence is professional, up-to-date, and informative. This individual also assists with virtual event coordination and digital outreach strategies, leveraging technology to enhance chapter communication and engagement.
